The Detroit News Sonic Summer Contest.

The Detroit News will be hosting a contest in August entitled "Sonic Summer - A Battle of The Bands," and THE PROCESS has been chosen as one of 30 finalists.
Our song will be put online in one of 3 groups of ten at www.detnews.com/battleofthebands.

The first group will be up Wednesday July 27th. Readers (and our fans) will vote on their favorite band in each group, and four bands from each group will go on to a showcase. At each showcase, four bands will be narrowed down from four to two by local judges. From there the six bands (two from each of the three showcases) will advance to the finals at Arts Beats and Eats, which is Labor Day weekend in Pontiac. The winner of that battle will win the huge grand prize. Prizes include
• Studio time at an area recording studio.
• Music video.
• Detroit News and Motor City Music Conference swag.
• Performance spot at the Spring 2006 Motor City Music Conference.
• More prizes to be announced.
Semi-finalist showcases will be held at The Magick Stick in Detroit on August 12th, at Clutch Cargos in Pontiac on August 19th, and at The Magic Bag in Ferndale on August 25th.
